An important part of the Tribe's vision regarding education is maintaining a positive relationship with the surrounding communities. To that end, it is essential that the Department work closely with the Island public schools attended by our tribal youth. The Department Director serves on a number of school advisory boards and committees representing the Tribe in policy decisions and actions that will directly affect our Tribal youth. The Department often receives requests for consultation in Native American and Wampanoag curriculum development. In addition to curriculum development, the department provides Wampanoag cultural and historical presentations in the schools
and at the tribal center.
