Thanksgiving Day Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded by the Society in recognition of the Wampanoag Nation's assistance to our Pilgrim ancestors. Two scholarships of $1500 each are awarded to applicants based on financial need and be in good standing in college, university, or junior college. To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant must provide the following:
1. The applicant must completely fill out the application form (even if you are re-applying) .
2. The applicant must provide proof of membership in the Wampanoag Nation by a tribal official's certification that the applicant is a bona fide member of a Tribe of the Wampanoag Nation and a copy (front and back) of
a current tribal membership card.
3. Proof of college acceptance and enrollment in the coming college year. Also include a transcript of your grades and SAT scores.
4. An original Essay entitled "My Native American Heritage" (not to be more than 500 words). The Essay of the winning applicants may be published in The Mayflower Compact, which is the newsletter of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Mail your application form and related materials to the Society postmarked by May 1st.
