Keeping the traditions alive
September 15, 2005
The Gay Head Wampanoag Tribe held a traditional powwow last Saturday at the cliffs. All ages were represented at the first youth powwow. The tribe hopes it will become an annual event.
A full day of events included traditional drumming, dancing, singing, as well as craft vendors and a raffle. The powwow was sponsored by the Wampanoag Youth Group and the Human Services Department.
